Fairfield, N.J. – April 4, 2016 – KMM, a national provider of logistics and network services to the U.S. communications industry, has announced the appointment of Kofi Badu as its new Chief Financial Officer. Badu will succeed Bill De la Teja in leading the company’s financial and risk management operations.
“Kofi’s extensive industry experience, strong business acumen and proven ability to spearhead growth will be of great value to KMM as we continue to pursue new market opportunities,” said Nick Shanker, KMM President. “We’ll be looking to him to help drive our strategic planning and improve efficiencies to help further enhance our profitability during this period of expansion and beyond.”
Badu brings a wealth of domestic and international experience to KMM, much of which he garnered while working for Ericsson in North America and Africa. He held several executive management positions during his 18-year tenure with Ericsson, including CFO, Head of Services Finance, VP of Business Operations, and Controller/Division CFO. Badu also served as a Senior Staff Accountant in the Consulting arm of PwC in the United Kingdom while training for the designation of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
“I’m eager to lend my expertise to a company that has demonstrated immense foresight into the needs of its customers and that has a solid understanding of and appreciation for the dynamic nature of the communications industry,” said Badu. “I appreciated KMM’s commitment to growth and I look forward to providing my input into its strategic roadmap.”
In February, KMM celebrated 25 years of providing integrated logistics solutions and services to major carriers, OEMs, and tower and program management companies. De la Teja, who joined the company in 1996, played a major role in moving KMM’s core business to an inventory ownership and markup-based pricing model. De la Teja will be moving into a new role on KMM’s advisory board.
“Bill has been absolutely instrumental to the success of KMM,” said Katherine M. McConvey, CEO. “I’d like to thank him for his contributions, his exceptional leadership, his unwavering commitment to the company, and his friendship.”
