Grapevine, TX – December 13, 2016 – KMM, a leader in logistics and network services to the U.S. communications industry, has announced plans to move its corporate headquarters from New Jersey to Texas. KMM’s National Distribution Center in Grapevine, which opened in 2013 and is used as a hub for a wide range of services supporting telecommunication equipment deployment, will serve as the company’s new headquarters.
“North Texas is the epicenter of the telecommunications sector; many of our customers are headquartered here so it makes sense for us to solidify our presence with a formal change in company headquarters,” explained Nick Shanker, KMM President. “Texas also has such a business-friendly climate that is driven by people who are passionate about technology, who are culturally competent and who seek to exchange ideas and inspire one another. It’s a great place for us to continue to grow our team.”
Located just four miles from the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, KMM’s new headquarters features 200 000 sq. ft. of Class A distribution space, 31 docks and a 7000 sq. ft. Training Center and Integration Lab. The company, which was founded by Katherine M. McConvey more than 25 years ago, performs materials management, installation, integration and assembly and last-mile staging services out of Grapevine. KMM also maintains additional facilities in New Jersey, Georgia, Indiana, Alabama, California and Washington, as well as has an expansive network of 3PLs nationwide.
The decision to move KMM’s headquarters from Fairfield, NJ after nine years was also driven by the company’s focus on its burgeoning Network Services business, which includes LTE and fiber deployment, cell site maintenance, network decommissioning, Small Cell and DAS deployments. KMM has a strong presence in the Pacific North West, following its 2015 acquisition of cell tower construction company Excell Services. However, the company would like to have a larger presence in the Central and Eastern parts of the country, to better serve its customers who are deploying networks in those areas.
“We’re committed to expanding our Network Services division nationwide, so it makes sense for us to focus our attention on growing our teams in a more centralized location,” said Shanker. “Being headquartered in Texas will also give us access to a large pool of talented and experienced high-tech workers, which will ensure that we are well equipped to rapidly deploy crews to support our customers in any location at a moment’s notice.”
KMM’s Grapevine facility is located at 4051 N Hwy 121, Suite 400.
